第3回目にチャレンジしました。

やった感想

前回まではリスニングはボロボロでしたが、

割と今回は冷静に聞けたかな・・・というレベル。

でも、ふたを開いてみたら・・・正解数は前回よりもひどかった…ガーン。

立ち直れん・・・

選択肢の相違が微妙すぎて選びにくい・・・と思うのは私だけかな。

そこがとても難しく感じます。

105. The company wanted to build its headquarters in the financial district or near the city center. 

な・・・なぜこれを間違えてしまったのだろう。。。なぜsoなどを入れてしまったのか。

114. Dalton Insurance company now gives clients more flexibility in regard to payments, permitting them to purchase policies in installments.

installementsは、「分割」の意味。お客が分割で保険商品を買うができるようにするなど、支払いに関してより柔軟性を提供している」って感じ。ごもっともな解答。なぜcredibilityを選んだんだ、私。credibilityは信頼性。

120　Mrs.Nordstrm seemed very pleased with the planned modifications to the main entrance of her firm's main office, and gave her approval to go ahead with construction. 

modificationsは「改良点」の意味。

130．Recent reports show that southeast Asia countries have decreased their reliance on fossil fuels by using alternative energy sources. 

reliance on ~で「～の依存」

134． The executive officer's memorandum cited the investors' reservations about using investment funds for research into alternative energy sources.

これは、調べてやっとわかったのだけど、

express reservations about ~で「~について難色を示す」だから、

「~を使用することについての投資家の懸念を用いた」みたいな感じでしょうか。

これは、調べてやっと分かりました・・・私にとっては難問です・・・それでも消去法で解けなきゃダメですよね。

138. Instead of donating a sum of money to an area damaged by the flood, the RADG Company has decided that contributing needed services and goods would be more helpful.

「洪水で被害を受けた地域にお金を寄付する代わりに、RADG社は、必要とされるサービスや製品を寄与することがより有益であると決断した」

私は、「～の代わりに」ではなく「～に加えて」だと思って答えを選んでしまいましたが、

そうすると、わざわざmoreを付けて比較する必要がないですね・・・

お金を寄付する事と、サービスや製品を寄付する事を比べて、前者の代わりに後者のようが有益だっていってるんですもんね。

990への道のりは・・・まだまだ遠そうだぁ（涙）。。。
